"Redmon's Million Dollar Majestic Theater" was built by Harry Redmon and Fred Leber, designed by architects Boller Brothers, The Majestic replaced an older Majestic, and opened it's doors in February 1928, seating 1767 patrons. It closed in 1960. Although the building is owned by the City, it is in demise. The facade is detailed with hundreds of little tiles featuring embossed icons of all sorts of subjects.
Swastika Horoscope
I guess you'll see the vajra in the mandorla thingy to the left of the one central to the ones with the swastika and the vajra inside. I guess these are more tortoise shell shaped eggs than mandorla.
The text explains how each monastery had a lama whose scholarly and ecclesiastical expertise was in astrology and magic and he says a lot about the magic square at the center of the central creature, the trigram surrounding it and around the trigrams and surrounding the trigrams the lotus petals colored to indicate the 12 zodiacal animals. He says the figures are "drawn on the belly of a frog." and I thought it must be a mistake since my line of reading demands a turtle. In Chalmers, however, the graph for turtle and for toad, for instance is practically indistinguishable and if you add the graph for furnace which is a twin for toad, I decided to start looking for some common metaphysical concept shared by toads, turtles and furnaces. I still can't think of what that could be, though.

The symbol appears in many cultures throughout history. Why do you think it keeps appearing in so many different times and places?
It's because it's a part of the archetypes of the inner foundations of the mind. There are universal symbols; like Karl Yung said, "If you slice through every religion there are universal archetypes: death, rebirth, the sacred mother giving birth to the divine child. And guess what pours through my dreams night after night? It's the archetypes but totally free from any organized religion. I see my duty as an artist and poet to refresh these archetypes. They're not going to change but they need to come out in a new form that we can relate to differently. When I see all these young people taking the swastika and playing with it, dancing with it, and making it into what it really is, it's just amazing. I feel like crying because I'm so excited. I come here and there are all these guys with their heads shaved and swastika tattoos on their faces, and it's like my dream is coming true. I better be careful what I dream of!

Yesterday i had a mail from my friend Phil from Cobh co Cork (Traditional Tattoo and world Culture Festival)
Hi Folks,
We are pleased to announce that we finally have the charity art auction for the Traditional Tattoo and world Culture Festival up online.
We had planned on holding the auction on the weekend of the festival itself but as some of you know, time got the better of us and we never got around to it on the weekend.
All proceeds of the auction will go directly to Cobh Hospital. Which has been neglegeted by the Irish government for some time now and is in desperate need of funding to survive, so all money recieved will be very greatfully recieved.

We are still waiting for some pieces to go up on line and will keep people posted as they go up. Some of the images from the photographer who shot all the art have gone missing somewhere in the system and we couldnt load them on line properly, so we are working on this and plan to have the second "wave" of art up in the next week or so.
