Swastika Carlsberg
The Elephant Gate, built in 1901, is the most famous building on the Carlsberg Brewery site. The initial idea for the gate came from Carl Jacobsen, working in close collaboration with architect Vilhelm Dahlerup. It was inspired by Bernini’s obelisk-carrying elephant in the Minerva Square in Rome and by the organ façade in Our Saviour's Church. The elephant, a symbol of loyalty and strength, characterises Carl Jacobsen’s Latin motto "Laboremus pro patria" - Let us work for our country. The elephants' blankets bear New Carlsberg's swastika trademark and the initials of Carl’s four surviving children – Theodora, Vagn, Helge and Paula (his heir, Alf, died). Foto: GnPhotos

Swastika Jesus Church
The Jesus Church (Danish: Jesuskirken) is a church in the Valby district of Copenhagen, Denmark, commissioned by second-generation Carlsberg brewer Carl Jacobsen and designed by Danish architect Vilhelm Dahlerup. Noted for its extensive ornamentation and artwork, it is considered to be one of the country's most idiosyncratic and unconventional churches. The church was built as a mausoleum for Carl Jacobsen and his family.

Swastika Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek
Michiel from the Netherlands took this foto in the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek museum.
The Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek (Glypto-, from the Greek root glyphein, to carve and theke, a storing-place) is an art museum in Copenhagen, Denmark. The collection is built around the personal collection of Carl Jacobsen (1842–1914), the son of the founder of the Carlsberg Breweries.

Swastika Carlsberg
Last week ManWoman send me this foto with the note:
Hi, here I am at the entrance to Carlsberg Beer in Copenhagen where 4 giant stone elephants marked with swastikas stand on guard. Feel free to post it to the swastika blog. Photo by my wife Astarté
